1. What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, and any profile fields you choose to fill in (for example institution, role, or location).
- Learning activity: lesson progress, quiz answers, exam attempts and scores, capstone submissions, and the dates you enrol in and open courses.
- Rewards: the XP you earn, coupons you redeem, and referral links you share or sign up through.
- Purchases: the order details returned by our payment partner, such as amount, order ID, and status. We never see or store your card, UPI, or bank details.
- Messages: what you send through the contact form, including your phone number if you choose to give it.
2. How we use it
- To deliver courses and keep your progress in sync across devices.
- To grade exams and capstones, and to issue certificates that anyone can verify.
- To run XP, coupons, and referral rewards.
- To send service emails: sign-in codes, receipts, certificates, and a weekly reminder about courses you have not finished.
- To answer support requests.
- To improve the platform, using aggregated data that does not identify you.
3. What we never do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
- We do not run third-party advertising trackers on the platform.
- We do not send you marketing emails unless you opt in.
4. Who processes your data
- Google Firebase stores your account, progress, and files, and handles sign-in. Data is stored in Google Cloud regions.
- Razorpay processes payments.
- GitHub and AI model providers: when you submit a capstone, we read your public GitHub repository and send its contents to an AI model provider for grading.
- Our email provider delivers the service emails listed above.
Each processor has its own privacy policy for the data it handles on our behalf.
5. Cookies and local storage
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies and browser localStorage entries to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We do not use advertising cookies.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. If you do not finish a course within 90 days, it leaves your dashboard, but your progress is kept so you can continue later. Payment records are kept for as long as tax law requires, even after an account is deleted.
7. Your rights
- You can edit your profile from your dashboard at any time.
- You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, or ask us to delete your account, by emailing admin@nerdit.in from your account email address.
- When we delete an account, we delete all data we are not legally required to keep. Certificates you earned will then no longer verify.
8. Children
NerdIT is intended for users aged 13 and over. If you are under 13, please do not create an account. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will email registered users and update the "Last updated" date above. If you continue to use NerdIT after that date, you accept the revised policy.
